This document instructs you on how to set up a Java programming environment for your Mac OS X computer. When I click 'more info' Java for OS X 2015-001 installs the legacy Java 6 runtime for OS X 10.11 El Capitan, OS X 10.10 Yosemite, OS X 10.9 Mavericks, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, and OS X 10.7 Lion.

After installed the OS X El Capitan I get the message: to open 'CS5ServiceManager' you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime. Java SE downloads including: Java Development Kit (JDK), Server Java Runtime Environment (Server JRE), and Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Java is no longer installed with a OS X 10.11 El Capitan clean install, and you’ll find that after updating a Mac a prior version of JRE may no longer function.

In the release notes for the Java 6 update, Apple states: Java for OS X 2015-001 installs the legacy Java 6 runtime for OS X 10.11 El Capitan, OS X 10.10 Yosemite, OS X 10.9 Mavericks, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, and OS X 10.7 Lion. This is a special update from Apple which allows the outdated Java 6 to safely run on your Mac.
